How To Order

It is bulging with good tips and info for you.

Yes, my book has a backpack.
   And it is bulging!

I’ve used a backpack in the past, though not this time. This time I wanted something with wheels. Wheels are one of the world's greatest inventions. They make things so much easier... such as lugging luggage up and down city streets. Backpacks are great out in the country.

When I have used a backpack, it has always seemed packed to bursting. I thought the zippers would pop. You know ... socks and underwear and a sweater, my camera, always a jar of peanut butter plus crackers, a guidebook, an address book, and my bathroom stuff.

And mosquito repellent, a poncho, my journal, binoculars, maps, this and that, and on and on. It felt like a ton on my back. Sometimes it was a big job to dig out what I needed. Sound familiar?

I wrote my book as an account of my exciting trip. It's an honest book, meaning that it's a true account, recounting the good and the bad. Anyone who reads it will get a good idea of what traveling solo around the world is like.

You will also learn a lot about everything involved...acquiring visas, buying air tickets, choosing insurance, budgeting, planning a smart itinerary, choosing hostels as well as small hotels, making reservations, using the Internet in other countries, buying foreign currencies, knowing the limitations of credit cards and other "plastic," staying safe, and many other important things. Like NOT using a backpack in some circumstances.

I decided to take the book a step further. I felt this practical info would be so useful for my readers that I decided to create a special section and to load it with the fruits of my experience - all these goodies! A bonus section, really. What to call it? "My BackPack!" It was a natural.

What pleases me most is that early comments tell me that readers are profiting from it. Which is what I intended and hoped for. But my readers are also having fun reading the section. Of course, I hope it will help you in your own travels. I believe it will.
